Congratulations! You've completed the Healthpointe program and are finally at your ideal weight. You conquered that mountain within and we are so very proud of you!

Give yourself a big pat on the back and a hip hip horray from us!!!

So, now what??

Well, now we take all those wonderful principals you've learnt and keep growing in your health journey. By now you are probably accustomed to the way of eating and this is the best guide when moving forward. It's not about eating a restricted diet forever, but if you overindulge, you soon find yourself back in bad habits and undoing all the work you've just done! So, if you want to maintain this new set point and stay at this healthy weight, you must keep up the good habits and changes that made it happen. think of it more as a 70% compliance, which means that 70-80% of the time (or 4-6 meals out of your 21 meals per week are non-compliant/indulgent meals). With this ratio you can happily maintain your new set point.

One way to know if your set point is solid is to have a 'test meal'. This would be a meal of indulgence or a bit of a feast - more than you would normally eat. If you weigh yourself the next morning and you have gained more than 1.5 kgs, your set point is not solid and you will need to have a protein day to get your weight back down. If you're under that mark, then congratulations - you've reached your set point and can maintain that for life.

This process can take up to 12 months and every body is different, so please be patient with yourself.

There are lots of ways to incorporate what you've learnt so far and maintain these healthy habits for life:

  • Continue having a protein day each week. These are a great way to rest your digestive system and reset your metabolism each week (especially after a big weekend!).

  • Keep your daily meal structure & habits the same - 3 meals, 3 snacks, lots of water and movement each day.

  • Reinforce your self-image through positive affirmations and gratitude. You have done a lot of work to retrain your brain and body and you have so much to be proud of!

  • Continue to be aware of your food choices and avoid processed, high sugar foods.

  • Continue taking your supplements to support your body and maintain your health.

  • Make mindful eating a part of your life and keep implementing tools to help you reduce your stress load.

  • Keep up the meal planning and prepping foods. This will help you avoid making unhealthy convenient choices too often.

And always remember, you have all the tools at hand. If you find yourself slipping into bad habits, just start again at Day 1. This program and what you have learnt are with you always and of course, we are always here if you need advice or support.

So go forth lean healthy one, and maintain that wonderful, lasting change you have created!

Bless,

Mel & Dan
