Kick Start Protein Days

The preparation you've done for these next few days is vital, as you don't want to be fighting mood swings, headaches or anything else as your body starts to detox AND be trying to work out what to eat!

For these 3 days you will only be eating from the Protein menu so stock up! You want to keep your total days carb intake to 50 - 80g so as to move your system into dietary ketosis. If you are unsure and want to check if you are in ketosis, you can purchase Ketone measuring sticks from your local chemist and test your urine each morning. It's important to still consume carbs as your body needs them and so the perfect meals and snacks are made up of high quality protein and some carbs. Good sources of protein include salmon, turkey breast, beef, chicken, tofu, eggs, cheese etc. See your food list in your manual for more information and options. There are other commercial snacks available as well. Just remember to read the nutrition labels for the total carb and protein content. In a snack, you should be looking for at least 10g of protein and under 20g of carbs. It is important to remember however, that on your Protein Only days, your carbs will be coming solely from your protein sources, not from any other foods.

Lastly, make sure you're taking your supplements and keeping your fluids up (you are aiming for 2-3L per day). Hydration is vital for flushing out those toxins and cleaning out your system and your supplements are strongly supporting your body into creating healthy new cells and repairing any damage and inflammation.
